Series B filters are classified by Type according to the pollutant which they offer protection against (with a color code and a letter) and by Class in terms of capacity (gases and vapors) in accordance with European Standard EN 14387:2004+A1:2008; and by Class in terms of efficiency (particles), in accordance with European Standard EN 143:2000/A1:2006.

All Series B filters meet the requirements of the European Standard EN 14387:2004+A1:2008 and EN 143:2000/A1:2006 and, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/425, have CE marking and are classified as Category III Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

EXAMPLE/

So, for example, filter ABE2 P3 R offers protection against:

  • Organic gases and vapors with boiling point >65°C.

  • Inorganic gases and vapors.

  • Acid gases and vapors.

  • Particles, dust, fibers, smoke, mist, microorganisms.

Is classified as Class 2 in terms of capacity, which means it can be used only if the concentration of the pollutant in the workplace is not higher than 5.000 ppm (parts per million).

And is classified as Class 3 in terms of efficiency, which means it has a 99,95% particle filtering efficiency.
